It’s recommended to have your bags (one for you, one for baby) packed by 34th week.
Well all you really need is yourself at hospital on time. And last thing you want is additional chaos of gathering things when you are rushing to hospital in labor. To avoid that, I had ours bags prepared and in car before 34th week.
Also, there was already to much uncertainty about ,when and where so I managed my anxiety by focusing on what I could make certain and that were only the bags.
Being a FTM (First Time Mom), I didn’t have clue that what to pack. So I asked around for ideas and then prepared a list of things that we required.
Here is my list for moms to be (I am a sucker for theme, so each and everything was pink, whether it was shower gel, candle or outfits):
For Labour:
•Hospital card
•Socks
•Nightgown (I got a long and loose granny style nightgown)
•Backless slippers (that were easy to get on and off)
•Travel neck pillow
•Hair ties

For After Birth:
•Maternity underwear
•Maternity Pads
•Nursing bras
•Nursing Pads
•Toiletries: tooth paste, face wash, loofah, shower gel, deodorants stick, lotion (it’s usually suggested to save travel versions to save space but I didn’t)
•Towel, tooth brush, Hairbrush
•PJ set: (I got a pink button down pj set. It was comfortable, pretty and practical)
Going home-home outfit: It had to be something comfortable but pretty, so I chose a pink top with palazzo. Tummy takes a while to go down; therefore it was in maternity size.
•Headband ( it was matching with the bow on baby's hospital cap.)
•Makeup pouch : It was going to be one of the happiest days and I wanted to look nice and happy. I kept some basics with me and I was lucky enough to be able to freshen up before our visitors showed up.

For Room :
• I had to stay in that room for at least two nights, so I had to make it look like our room. For that I kept a picture frame and a candle.

Also mum gave me some special almonds that I was supposed to have during labour.
MOST IMPORTANT : Cell-phone Chargers.
However, our hospital provided each and everything which made things even more comfortable.
