Message for Parents of a Daughter

Dear parents of a daughter

Raise a strong woman who is complete in herself; Instead of raising her to only become someone’s wife.

Instead of saving money for her marriage; spend it on her education to make her financially independent.

Don’t take away opportunities from her to get validation from society; instead provide her experiences that will teach her how to fight for herself.

Raise her to be God fearing not man/society fearing.

Tell her that self-esteem and emotional well being is far more important than “what people will say”.

Educate her about fitness; instead of pushing her to achieve society's cliche beauty standards.

Let her create her own identity and tell her to be with the one who loves her the way she is.

Teach her to choose her words wisely; instead of telling her to stay quiet because she is weak.

Support her in becoming a complete person in herself first before she allows someone else to become part of her life. 

Your daughter is a human who has a right to not to be compromised for anyone else. Be her support system, empower her and let her grow. You don't owe anything to the society but you owe a lot to the one you gave birth to.
